Description:

Five hundred million years of history is covered through art and interactive exhibits at the Petroleum Museum, from geology and the formation of oil to exploration and pipelining to modern-day economic and political impacts of the petroleum industry. The museum sits on the interstate just south of Midland, 15 miles east of Odessa. Each of the four wings of the museum covers an aspect of petroleum history, including geology, technology, cultural impact, and transportation. It also contains the largest collection of western artist Tom Lovell's works in the nation.

Open Mon. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun., 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Admission Details:

Adults $8; Children (12-17) and Seniors (65+) $6; Children (6-11) $5; Children under 6 are free.
